Jaipur based software company, Oasis Infotech launched two new web based enterprise solutions for pharmaceutical industry at the recently conducted Interphex India event. Oasis launched OasisLIMS 3.0 Web Based Enterprise Edition and CrisSmart SFA/CRM 1.0 Professional-Web Based for the small laboratories and small and medium pharmaceutical companies respectively.
Small laboratories generally test less than 30-40 samples per day and do not have enough time as well as capital to run full-fledged IT department. OasisLIMS will primarily give an opportunity to small laboratories to own a low cost LIMS with high level of support and security on rental lease basis. The user will be able to access the laboratory data from home, office and across the globe. The solution will help in streamlining lab operations with standard work flow. Some of the prime features include 21 CFR part 11 compliance, sample registration and management, certificate of analysis as per FDA requirements, barcode labels etc. Apart from the core LIMS the company also offers many add on modules such as stability studies, trend analysis, equipment calibration and vendor rating.
Komal Kalani, VP, business development, Oasis Infotech claimed that OasisLIMS can save up to 40% of time of highly qualified lab personnel which can be used in other productive activities. It can lead to increased responsiveness, accurate results and minimal error in laboratory work due to online calculations.
CrissSmart SFA/CRM is a comprehensive online sales force automation application. It is specifically designed for pharmaceutical companies to enable linking of their sales field personnel with the corporate office. CrissSmart can help in online daily report submission, maintenance of call coverage reports of doctors, chemist and stockists, entry of monthly target along with achievements in terms of quantities and values. Apart from this it also provides features like e-mail system, internal messaging system, search tools etc. CrisSmart (SFA) completely eliminates the manual reporting system of sales field personnel and also keeps them updated with latest technical and corporate information.
Oasis offers these solutions as both SaaS (Software as Service) as well as fully functional solution. The company is targeting SMEs as well as multinationals. Organisations not willing to invest in the entire solution can use the basic and required features on a rental basis. If the organisation wishes to use the fully functional LIMS they can go for the complete solution. A customer can access the basic features for Rs 10,000 (approx) per month or own a fully functional LIMS for Rs 20,00,000 (approx).
Oasis has also scheduled to launch CrisCon 3.0 Professional - Web Based ERP solution for pharmaceutical industry in coming December. Being asked about the company’s increased focus on offering solution though hosted or SaaS model, Kalani explained “It is the need of the hour, especially to increase the efficiency and competitiveness of SME and SMB sector, as this forms the core of Indian pharmaceutical industry.” There are more than 5000 small scale units in the country, she claimed.
Pharmaceutical sector is growing rapidly in India. More and more companies want to stay competitive by improving their QC (Quality Control) and QA (Quality Assurance) activities, cut their costs and manage existing market more effectively. IT can come in aid to resolve their operational issues but such enterprises often suffer from lean IT budgets. In this scenario Kalani feels web enabling pharmaceutical industry is now imperative.
