10 Must Play Wii Games

You can stop looking for what you should be buying on the Wii. We have the definitive must buy list for you.

Four years after making its launch, the Nintendo Wii has become the best-selling game system this generation of consoles has ever seen. It wouldn't be a strange coincidence to see a double handful of memorable title releases to go along with it, despite how queer the publishers continue to paint its third-party support. Whether you're jonesing for a meaty experience that fits your hardcore preferences, or you're looking to break a leg in a game that even your elders can enjoy, the Wii has a little something for everybody. Read on to find out what you may have missed. 10. Dead Space Extraction The Wii is home to a lot of original on-rails light gun shooters, such as the Resident Evil Chronicles and House of the Dead: Overkill. However, Extraction ends up being the best of the lot. The way it integrates story elements and characters to the genre feels fresh, while the engaging gunplay is very faithful to its HD brother. Dismembering necromorphs with a buddy doesn't hurt either. 09. Muramasa: The Demon Blade It's likely that your first impression of Muramasa is that it looks good. Your second impression: it looks really good. Developed by the same team that worked on the equally-beautiful Odin Sphere for PS2, Muramasa is a 2D side-scrolling action game heavily drowned in Japanese mythology. Two modes (one skill-based, the other offering RPG-like level-ups) and two characters are available from the start, and further help suit to your play styles. 08. Mario Kart Wii Can't have a Nintendo console without a Mario Kart. The Wii version hosts over a dozen newer track, plus remixed ones from earlier games, along with a dedicated Channel to help you maintain online sessions and manage Friend Lists. Or, if you're wireless-less, you can slug it out with upto 4-players via split-screen multiplayer. The perfect party crasher. 07. No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle A sequel that improves the original in pretty much every department? Check. Moe? Also check. Desperate Struggle released just a few weeks ago, and is easily the best 3D action game you're going to find on the Wii. Be sure to check out our review and see what we had to say about it. 06. Wii Sports Resort How do you make one of the best-selling casual games even better? By having it support the new Wii MotionPlus accessory. A lot of the activities, some of which repackaged from the first game, feel incredibly responsive and involving. While MotionPlus isn't required to play all sporting events, you'd be a silly goose not to use it. Still no online support, so remember to bring some friends along to get the most out of your experience. |
