A few tips to get you started with leveling up...

Another thing you must remember is to pick up all quests that are applicable to you – I could give you examples of the thousands of times I’ve obliviously completed quest objectives without picking up the quests, and then have had to do them all over again once I’ve picked the quest up; but instead, I’ll just tell you that the feeling really sucks and it’s a completely waste of time, so pick up as many quests as you can. The reason I’ve stressed on this so much, is because questing is absolutely the best way to level up. You end up gaining experience from killing stuff along your adventures, as well as the experience you gain from turning the quest in after it’s complete. However, there’s another breed of bloodthirsty adventures that don’t believe in questing at all, and instead just keep killing each and every creature that crosses their path. This way of leveling is called ‘Grinding’, which literally means killing a large number of monsters in the same area, over and over again until your fingers grow stiff and you end up with carpal tunnel syndrome. Exaggeration apart, grinding is not the most effective way to level up and is boring as hell, but it helps you by getting you items easily. I wouldn’t recommend that anyone should really grind (at least initially), but if you wanna do it anyway, knock yourself out. During your journey from Level 1 to whatever level you scrape your ass to, you’re gonna kill a ton of creatures, complete a crap-load of quests and make a lot of cash/gold (or whatever the game you're playing calls the green stuff) as well as gain a lot of precious items from the creatures you kill. Remember to loot the bodies of all the creatures you kill, and sell everything you don’t really need. You’ll be really tempted to spend the cash you make on small gear/weapon upgrades, but I’d advice you not to, since you’re most likely going to outgrow what you buy at this point quickly. Just like in real life, it’s a better idea to collect the cash for when you come across something REALLY nice. It might be a little tempting to buy items that make your character look good too at times, but I suggest that you don’t – you’re gonna need all the cash you can get when your level gets maxed out. |
