Games That Were Worth The Wait

They say that patience is a virtue; if that’s the case, then I’m not a very virtuous guy, especially when it comes to games. I can’t wait a minute longer than I have to, to get my hands dirty, but every now and then some publisher torments me (and a lot of you too I’m sure) by prolonging the release date of an AAA title for a long time. More often than not the wait seems like a complete waste of time once the game actually releases; however, every blue moon a delayed game surprises us all by being better than your average time-killer. This article is a tribute to such games that even though delayed, were truly worth the wait! 8.5 Million customers and growing; what more do I say about World of Warcraft? Blizzard's perfectionism reflected well in this title. It is said that the pre-alpha build of the game was completely scrapped since Blizzard wasn’t happy with what they’d made and so they reworked the entire game to come up with the best MMORPG on the planet! The wait didn’t seem too long though, since Blizzard had a pretty extensive Beta stage that allowed us to participate and help tweak the game with some valuable gamer input. At the end of it all, gamers got the most extensive online role-playing game they could think off, which surprisingly, was pretty simple to pick-up and play. The beauty of the game lies in how well Blizzard had strewn all the elements that made for some great online interactive cooperative play into a role-playing experience that would immerse you into the depths of the Warcraft universe. |
