Gaming Annoyances 101: The Retard Factor

What gets on your nerves most while gaming? Here's another of our pet peeves.
|
When it's people that annoy you there’s nothing a kick from the server can’t fix, but when the problem is technical in nature there isn’t much you can really do. Thanks to the fantastic job ISPs do with their routing in India, lag is a commonplace for most online gamers. There are times when I empty entire clips into an enemy’s face, reload and repeat, and they still live to smirk back at me (before they kill me in one shot). Such occurrences are a daily thing for me now, and I’m beginning to accept lag as a part and parcel of life. It even sucks when your enemies lag, so I can only imagine what my enemies go through when I lag. It’s not fun to kill a person spasming around on your screen erratically, you know! We probably dodge their bullets better than most people who lag – so I guess there’s a good side to lag too. |
