Grudge Match: Round 1 - Kratos VS Fenix

We’ve been working on the idea of Grudge matches on Tech2 for a while now but never really got down to it – till today!

For the uninitiated a Grudge Match is basically pitting two characters against each other to see which one comes out the undisputed winner. The winner of each round will move onto the next one till he comes face to face with his nemesis in a Boss Battle. We have four distinct genres – Action, Old School, Shooter and Fighter - each of which house four contestants. Every week we’ll pick two contestants from each genre and pit them against each other.


And the judges of course will be you, the reader. Simply cast your vote in the comments section below or participate in our Facebook poll to let us know who you think kicks the most amount of ass. Kicking our first Grudge Match off is the Action genre and today we pit two heavyweights against each other – Kratos, the God of War himself and Marcus Fenix from the Gears of War series.

Kratos





  • Age: Unknown
  • Place of Birth: Sparta
  • Height: No one’s ever had the b***s to ask him but we’re guessing anything between 7 and 8 feet.
  • Physical Traits: Tall, bald and ashen courtesy of the ashes of his family. Doesn’t believe in wearing anything except for a loin cloth. Houses a nasty scar across abdomen and face.
  • Weapon of Choice: Blades of Chaos
  • Badass Quotient: No last name. Also he kills Gods and all of Greek mythology. Has survived death multiple times.
  • Social Life: None whatsoever. He’s killed everyone including his wife and child.
  • Trademark: Loud booming voice. Serious Rage issues and hatred for any living thing.

Marcus Fenix





  • Age: Unknown
  • Place of Birth: Planet Sera
  • Height: 6” 1 ft.
  • Physical Traits: Tall, hairy and bulky Fenix is covered from head to toe in armor. Prefers a do-rag over a helmet. Houses a nasty scar on the face.
  • Weapon of Choice – Badass chainsaw mounted lancer
  • Badass Quotient: He eradicates an entire alien race including a city eating bug. Crushes enemy skulls and skews them in half with his chainsaw.
  • Social Life: Hangs out with best friend Dominic Santiogo and the rest of the Gears from time to time.
  • Trademark: Gruff Voice. Harbors serious hate for Locusts.
