Will we see them in 2009?

Will these games see the light of day this year?
|
We’ve pretty much covered most of the anticipated games of 2009 in our avalanche of Upcoming Games of 2009 features that you can scope out right here. Before we wrap things up there’s one last feature we have in store for you and that is a bunch of games we know pretty much nothing about, but have been announced for this year (or so we’re told). There's no denying that Assassin's Creed was a technical masterpiece but it got painfully repetitive along the way. Each and every mission played out the same way making the entire game a tedious exercise in repetition. Even though there's no official confirmation from Ubisoft we know the game's coming thanks to a "we are working hard on the product" comment by a Ubi executive. Will the game take place in the future? Will it actually tie up some of the loose ends from the first game? I don't know and I don't care; my only concern is that they inject a lot more variety in the sequel. We've seen the painfully short teaser trailer of a little girl clutching a Big Daddy figure in her hand but what exactly will the game be bringing to the table? All we know as of now is that the game will be a bit of a prequel as well as a sequel. We're hoping the game brings a unique brand of multiplayer to the table because killing opponents using your plasmids would be sick. As far as the plot's concerned I personally would love to see Rapture restored in all its glory, slowly crumbling and decaying as the story progressed ultimately giving birth to the haunted dystopian shell of a city we came to love from the first game. John Carmack and his merry men at id software are back for another helping of weturpantis in the form of a brand new Doom game running on their spanking new id Tech 5 engine. Sure Doom 3 wasn't "da bomb" and was plagued by hundred of predictable moments but there's no denying the fact that the game was creepy and handled visuals (you know textures, lighting, etc) brilliantly back in the day. As far as gameplay is concerned we're left with nothing but speculations that suggest Doom 4 could be a remake of Doom 2: Hell on Earth since Doom 3 was a remake of the first Doom game. |
