With game releases being few and far between on the PlayStation 2, we give you a list of some brilliant games that you may have missed

20 Must-Have PS2 Games

This usually is the worst part of the year for gaming. It’s been a couple of months since E3 showed us all those drool-worthy games that are scheduled for release later in the year (or the next) and we haven’t exactly reached the Christmas season yet, which is usually the time when the best games hit the market.

So if you’re not keen on picking up any new hobbies, maybe you should look back at some of the killer games you missed out on, or replay the one’s you’re done with one more time. We’ve done our research and compiled a list of 20 games that are still available in the market that you can consider for the task.

Sega Sports Tennis

The player roster will be a bit out-dated, but Sega Sports Tennis is still the best tennis game for the PS2. The perfectly balanced gameplay, the highly entertaining multiplayer mode and the single player World Tour is reason enough for you to keep going back to this game for a long-long time.

Capcom Vs. SNK 2

Its hard to keep count how many Street Fighter games are actually available on the PlayStation 2 platform. But if you’re looking for the downright best in the series, it’s got to be Capcom Vs. SNK. The game features the best of the Capcom universe and if that wasn’t enough, you also have SNK NeoGeo fighting game greats added to killer lineup. Add gorgeous 3D backgrounds and extra fast gameplay to that and you have a fighter that just refuses to age with time.

Manhunt

Rockstar’s Manhunt game got a lot of flack for being excessively violent. The thing is you can’t make much of an argument against that because it’s all true. But besides the violence its actually the excellent game AI and the edge-of-the-seat gameplay that makes this game so highly recommended… no kidding!

NBA Street Vol.3

This game is basketball taken to a level that would even make the actual NBA stars drop their jaws! NBS Street, just as the name suggests is a two-on-two street basketball game that features real NBA stars with “exaggerates” abilities. The result is arguably the coolest sports games that ever churned out of EA Sports BIG department.
