Challenge Met: Cheapest Gaming PC Yet!
| by Anand Tuliani
Looking at the number of options that you guys suggested during our Cheapest Gaming PC challenge , it’s confirmed that gaming no longer has to be an expensive hobby. While some PCs in the comments section met the sub-25K mark, some were impressive despite being over the price mark.
Here are the three configurations we’ve picked for entry-level gaming:
Reader: Karthikeyan (Option 1)
Now, Karthikeyan has smartly chosen a weaker CPU, a decent GPU and entry-level hardware, to keep his budget to the minimum (under 25K was the idea). While you can play games on this PC at low to medium settings, the CPU performance will not be impressive. Basically, it’s a good bundle put together, considering the budget constraints. And yes, choosing a better power supply is a very good idea, especially if you intend to use a better graphics card, which might need an additional power source.
Reader: Nagaraj Javare (Option 2)
Nagaraj on the other hand has chosen to go with a better power supply unit and more RAM. So overall, the performance of his machine would be slightly better due to additional memory.
However, the game play will not improve drastically, so even if you don’t pay extra for these things, you’ll still get almost equally good scores in most games. In any case, if you can extend your budget, then this is a better hardware configuration, in terms of overall performance, but it exceeds the 25K price mark.
