These are the new types of HDTV technologies to look out for...

We were doing our weekly review and inventory wrap up just yesterday, and found out the amazing number of TVs and Display technologies that keep releasing, coming in,and how things gradually change for the better in terms of quality, features, technology etc. This is true of course for everything tech, but HDTVs and video entertainment is what tickles our nerves currently, so we did a little reading and crystal gazing to see what might be in store for us in the not so distant future. Here are 3 seemingly nice future technologies that we might see in our HDTVs. OLED TV Eastman Kodak has to be given credit for their early research and development on this technology, though of course today all the big TV names like Samsung are brandishing their plans and ideas. In OLEDs too just like LCDs, we have active matrix (with a TFT) and passive matrix kinds, commonly known as AMOLEDs and PMOLEDs. There is a difference in their functioning, and for large TV screens AMOLED is better as they consume lesser power and have faster refresh rates. There are many advantages to OLED. Besides the inherent power consumption and picture quality improvements; we have super thin panels possible, even bendable and foldable ones (as claimed by various companies). Thus we can even have wearable OLEDs, imagine the possibilities, stuff like ebook readers with bendable screen pages, will really make the good old paperback novel obsolete. |
