More choices for the ladies that will hopefully help them decide on a handset that blends form and function.

Totally Girly Mobiles - Part II

With the festive season coming up, this is a great time for all you guys to think about giving your gals gifts in the form of a mobile phone. Or, in this day and age of women’s liberation, the ladies could go out and get one themselves. If the earlier list of handsets that I covered weren’t to your liking, here are a few more 'girly' choices.

Samsung U900 Soul
The Samsung Soul is a slim, stylish, and well-equipped slider handset. It comes equipped with a touch-sensitive navigation pad (called 'Magic Touch'). This allows users to navigate menus, and offers specific options with regard to particular features selected. The steel-and-black finish makes the device look quite glamorous, so it should appeal to the fashion-conscious.

The U900 has a 5MP auto-focus camera with image stabilization. It’s 3G-enabled, but for us EDGE/GPRS support should be adequate for the time being. Other features include a media player, FM radio, Stereo Bluetooth, and USB connectivity.

BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220
For the businesswoman on the go who likes to be stylish, BlackBerry’s soon-to-arrive Flip 8220 should be a natural choice. It manages to incorporate a chic business feel with functionality and style, in a clamshell design. With a large internal display and a smaller display on the outside, this is a stylish extension of RIM’s popular Pearl handset.

The Flip 8220 comes with trackball navigation, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth with A2DP support, and GPS with BlackBerry maps. The Flip has a 2MP camera, microSD card support for external memory, and a 3.5mm standard earphone socket. Movie buffs will be happy to know there's full support for DivX, WMV and XviD formats, in addition to the audio player feature.
