Earlier, laptops were considered a luxury. Today, they are a luxury by choice.

The World's Most Luxurious Laptops

Every product category targets various budgets, and this applies to laptops as much-if not more-as any other gadget. However, when it comes to the high-end segment, it’s very easy to cross the line, wherein a product falls into the premium category, and its cost is no longer a concern. As part of our Luxury week at Tech2, we’ve picked a handful of ultra-high-end laptops that were born to be drooled over. If you think that a laptop that costs Rs 1,00,000 is expensive, read on for some surprises.

When speaking of gaming PCs and laptops, Alienware is the first name that comes to mind. It’s nice to see that gaming is no longer a luxury, considering the affordable laptops that the company comes up with. This is what happens when these affordable machines are spruced up to be turned into monstrous power houses. The price shoots through the roof, again making it a luxury product. In the case of the Alienware M17X, the Core i5-520 variant costs about US$ 1,799, but we maxed out to the highest configuration to see how much the full-fledged version costs. This price may exceed even further if you opt for some value added services and some Alienware recommended accessories.

The Alienware M11X, which is a lighter and much smaller gaming laptop, also costs a fortune if you max out the hardware configuration. While the starting price of the unit, with an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU is about US$799, the Intel Core i7-640UM variant with high-end specs can go over US$3,500.
