The wonders of Widescreen Gaming...
|
It’s no secret, that widescreen gaming is a pain in the ass. Finding the right in-game resolution that’s native to your monitor (which many games might not support), finding the perfect settings to make sure that your frame-rate doesn’t dive (making your games look like a slide-show), are just a few of the gazillion hurdles you encounter. Using a wide-screen monitor for gaming can make you tear your hair out, so you’d wonder, why opt for it? Firstly, you’ve got to see the results for yourself. When you game using the large viewing area of a widescreen monitor, it’s the most 'immersive' experience ever. This experience will make each strand of hair that you’ve ripped out, seem worth it. You get so involved in the game that the outside world just fades away – phones go unanswered, the doorbell keeps ringing, your dinner goes cold and your bladder… well, let’s not get there. World of Warcraft All you WoW fanatics who thought the game looked great haven’t yet seen it on widescreen. The game looks absolutely phenomenal on 1680x1050 resolution, and with the digital video output that most new monitors support, the colors look crisper and more vibrant than ever. The best part is that you do not need any fixes/tweaks to get it running on any widescreen resolution, as the game has complete widescreen support. The first time I saw the way the game looked on a 22” widescreen monitor, I fell in love with the sexy piece of hardware and knew that I just had to buy it. |
