Panasonic DMC-TZ25 - (Price - 15,990)
Panasonic has a range of superzoom cameras under their belt and they have recently unveiled the DMC-TZ25, a point and shoot camera that offers a 16x optical zoom LEICA DC Lens. It uses a 12.1MP MOS sensor that does more than a decent job of handling image noise as well as shooting in low light conditions. Travelers will have a gala time shooting with this camera as the performance is nothing short of being excellent.
The 3-inch display at the back is capable of handling sunlight and the images onscreen do not appear washed out. Apart from this, it features various scene modes as well as 3D image capture that can be viewed on a Panasonic 3D television. Another neat feature found here are the modes such as program, aperture priority, shutter priority and manual. This allows one to play around with the settings. Videos can be recorded on it at 720p.
Sony Cyber-shot HX20V (Price - र22,990)
Sony Cyber-shot HX20V
Last year, Sony unveiled one of the best travel compact cameras in the world with the Sony Cyber-shot HX9V. This year, their successor packs features that literally overshadow their last year’s model. This camera packs a 20x optical zoom that offers blur free images, even with the zoom maxed out. The brand has added an 18MP BSI CMOS sensor that offers image quality that can rival the best of its competition. The display is another standout feature as it uses a high resolution 921,600 dot screen. This is more than sufficient for providing a vast amount of detail in images and videos. Like all Sony cameras, the HX20V is easy to use and this would be a great travel companion.
Nikon Coolpix S9300
Nikon had recently unveiled a range of cameras in India and this model was one of the highlights at the event. It packs an 18x optical zoom lens that allows one to get up close to the subject without needing to move a muscle, except the one on your finger for using the zoom rocker. With the Vibration Reduction feature in tow, which is Nikon’s image stabilizer one can get blur free shots of images that are far off. It features a 16MP CMOS sensor that offers high resolution image capture and a reduced noise. This can be great, while capturing images in low light environments as well. Full HD 1080p video recording is possible as well with this point and shoot option. The addition of GPS in the camera can certainly be beneficial for travelers as well as images can be geotagged on sites, such as Google Earth.
