The tablet industry is booming right now and especially here in India where newer and more affordable options are popping out of the woodwork. That being said it makes for harder choices, then again it’s also wise to consider your budget and buy what your bank book allows. The tech market has got plenty to offer so we decided to see just what was out there and what the prices of today’s tablets would be like.
Tablets like the Apple iPad 2, Samsung Galaxy Tab 750 and the Motorola Xoom are the hottest tablets in the market right now. Most vendors, judging by the sales figures of these tablets are stocking them more than other tablets. Slates like the BlackBerry PlayBook, HTC Flyer and Acer Iconia Tab A500 are not doing that well in the market. Resellers are reluctant to stock these tablets, as they are running into losses. If one wants to purchase the above mentioned tablets, resellers are doing so on a pre-order basis. Though some tablets are doing better in the market, all these tablets mentioned in the list below are available through online stores, official retailers and other resellers. Another point to keep in mind right now is that the prices of tablets are set to rise in the near future because of an 18 percent VAT that is now going to be levied on them. Acer’s tablets have already been hit by this service tax and retailers are expecting the tax to be levied on other tablets shortly. Here is a closer look at the prices of tablets in the market right now.
A few things to keep in mind, though -
