Four Freeware Alternative Defragging Tools

It’s the weekend, and so happens to be the one scheduled for a monthly defrag. But the Windows defrag is plain boring, plus it does not do certain vital stuff like boot time defragging etc. These are 4 very nice, small little freeware software that do a great job of defragging and keeping your PC healthy and smooth. Defraggler
This piece of software is by the increasingly popular Piriform, the same guys who made CCleaner. CCleaner is superb (at cleaning your hard drive including the registry), and so is this Defragging utility they have, called Defraggler. The good thing here is you can select the particular files you want, and plus the overall GUI is very user friendly and intuitive. And yes, it is way faster than the regular Windows defragger.

 SpeeDefrag
This is a small exclusive freeware (adware which can be unchecked during installation) defragging utility made by Vicky’s Cool Software, that’s the publishing entity’s name. Besides having an interesting name, the software is different from the rest. It has a way of optimizing Windows defragging - it restarts your computer, which refreshes the RAM and loads just the defrag.exe program alone. This is good as there is minimum load on the system and therefore defragmentation speed is increased. It can also shutdown or restart your computer automatically once defrag is over. It supports scheduling of defrag and also disk checking before defrag.
