    Cheapest 46" Full HD TV

I want to buy 46 inches Full HD TV which I can buy in india because there are some models which are on the website but when I ask the shopkeeper he tells me that these are no longer available or are not available in indian market.

I will be using Xbox 360 and PS3 to play on it.

Companies: Panasonic, Sony, LG, Samsung, Philips
Please suggest cheapest options for around 50k ?

The cheapest full HD 46-inch TVs that I could find are actually from Toshiba.

Check these two models out: Toshiba - 46XV635 : Televisions : Features, specification, reviews, online price, deals in India - Compare India and Toshiba - 46RV600E : Televisions : Features, specification, reviews, online price, deals in India - Compare India

Both are under 50k, you get a lot of inches for your buck.

Hahaha! Yeah, I can imagine doing that too.

You know what, Toshiba and many generally considered to be good brands can be had for great discounts, but there is this fixation with some brands regardless of the premium you may end up paying.

I completely agree with you on this. There is big racism that works in the Electronic Industry....;) For example apart from the Indian consumers fixation with "phoren" (sony/samsung) stuff the West has a racism towards eastern audio brands, despite the fact that they are way way better than some British or European manufactured equipment with boutique names at similar prices. What is a 'BRIGHT' for a Japanese SACD /CD player is 'SPARKLE' for a European SACD/CD player with a clunky Philips Disc tray drive mechanism. I could go on in lengths as to what we have done to the industry.....anyways...thats for another day....sigh....

Well said, but you have to realise that our fixation with these brands is due to the crazy amount of marketing money they spend. Not to say that their products are any better or worse, but the differences in performance from product to product is often very little, but you'll end up paying a huge premium only because of the brand and brand alone.

adikumar2010 is hesitant in picking up the Toshiba TV because his perception of them wasn't fixed despite the aggressive Sachin Tendulkar advertising (never liked those ads btw) even during major sporting events. And that hesitation is despite a decent discount being offered.

If you do want to avoid picking up a Toshiba, then I would recommend you go for a Plasma TV, because it will give you the best bang for your buck in terms of size and picture quality. See this for instance: Panasonic - VIERA TH-P50U30D : Televisions : Features, specification, reviews, online price, deals in India - Compare India

Re: Cheapest 46" Full HD TV

Panasonic VIERA TH-P50U30D is of 60k over my budget.
I went to many electronics shop and saw some good plasma TVs - 50 inches, 600 Hz, 2D to 3D conversion, two free 3D glasses, better speakers than LCD's and those plasma are for around 49k.
Samsung plasma 43" is of 43k.
But the only problem is the plasma TVs that are under 60k are not FULL HD. If I want full HD then I can get max 42" LG LCD TVs under 50k.

So my question can I buy those plasma will there be any noticeable difference in picture quality incase I buy these 720p Plasma?
If I forget Full HD then I will get large screen, 600 motion hrtz and 3D. But I dont know how important it is to buy 1080p TV.
I will play Xbox 360 and full 1080p movies on it all day. So suggest me according to my usage please.

adikumark2010, a lot depends on your viewing distance. Check this chart out to figure out at what distance the resolution starts making a noticeable-visible difference.

    1080p.matters.jpg

Do read the article as well here (the chart is taken from the article): 1080p Does Matter – Here’s When (Screen Size vs. Viewing Distance vs. Resolution) | CarltonBale.com

There is a lot you will learn about why higher resolution often makes little or no difference. It will also clear up your doubts about going up size with lower resolution and down-sizing with higher resolution. If you are not able to figure out then do post your general viewing distance, and I will give you a simple breakdown.

It is also good that you're not in a mad rush to buy, and are waiting and browsing around before you pick the right TV. You will make a good and informed choice instead of just rushing in and buying the first thing that looks good.

My viewing distance will be around 9-11 feet always. So what resolution and screen size would be good for me. Its little complicated to understand from graph, please help.
