    Re: 3d glasses

    I hear you bro.

I hate wearing 3D glasses, and I don't even have glasses. I also hate the 3D effect. I even hated watching Avatar in 3D, once the Blu-ray version was out I have watched it a couple of times and really enjoyed the movie but totally in 2D.

And I'm very happy that Dark Knight Rises is not in 3D, and in fact Christopher Nolan believes that the future is in IMAX and not in 3D.

You should read this article for more of his thoughts on why he has a dim view of 3D: Christopher Nolan’s dim view of a Hollywood craze: ‘I’m not a huge fan of 3-D’ | Hero Complex – movies, comics, fanboy fare – latimes.com

Christopher Nolan: It’s all based on all the visual-effects technology, you know, that we’re currently most engaged in with match moving, so forth, and rendering 2-D imagery into a 3-D space. … On a technical level, it’s fascinating, but on an experiential level, I find the dimness of the image extremely alienating.
I also think the reason why Christopher Nolan chose plain 'ol 2D for Dark Knight Rises is because a lot of the movie is shot in dark confines. And the series has been dark and sooty, and 3D would've made it even darker and dinghy.

I don't think you can watch 3D without using the 3D glasses. Well If you are asking about the prescription glasses then I don't think you can wear them as I can't figure out a way where you can wear two glasses at a time....can you??

I hate wearing 3D specs.....it should be really effective and lively without wearing a specs.....then the power of engineering will be known....
and moreover the specs make me uncomfortable to watch the movie...

The process is still under progress and we can see glasses free 3D TVs in future. At present Toshiba is the only brand which has glasses free 3D TVs but the quality of image is still a point of concern.
As far as glasses are concerned, I think Passive is the way to go and they are free from any health related aspects as well.

In my opinion, 3D content is hard to find, 2D-to-3D is OK as a once-in-a-while and TVs are still very expensive. 3D performance is good only on high-end models, passive on or not. Besides, 3D gives a very false impression and it's just barely OK for long viewing. From what I've heard, most viewers prefer non-3D content even in theatres. I think it's a temporary phase.

yeah,,that's correct..3D TV is still in progressing stage in india and we have still to travel a long way to get 3D as the main stream for TVs.

Personally I don't see that happening, smart TVs on the other hand might.

I am pretty sure about the success of smart tvs in india but on the other hand, I am also pretty sure that 3D TVs will too become as a main stream but I am nt sure about the journey time we have to travel for the same.

    Re: 3d glasses

It's been attempted in the past. It'll get hyped for a year or two, when it results in no money, it'll be forgotten. The way it is right now, it's just plain awful.
