Exclamation Limitations for New Registered Members

When I registered yesterday, I noticed a few limitations which I think are only applicable to new members:

    1. All my posts are under moderation and only get visible when a mod approves them.

    2. I can't use a signature.

    3. My name is not visible in Registered members section in following page: http://tech2.in.com/forum/showgroups.php

I hope these limitations are applicable for new members only and there is some limit set by the admins like number of posts to be able to use these features.

I tried to find some info regarding it but couldn't find any such info anywhere.

I request admins/mods to create a new topic which provides details about these limitations so that new members like me dont start posting new topics asking a reason for these limitations like I'm doing in this topic.

Please accept my apologies if its already posted somewhere and I missed it.

We're moderating posts to avoid spammers (bots) and also overactive users who might want to get their post count up in a hurry. Quality of discussion is important

Your name will show up under the Registered Users group once you cross the initial 10 post limit. You should also be able be able to use a signature once you cross the 10 post limit as well.

Thanks. That's what I wanted to know. Please mention it in FAQ or somewhere else so that new members don't get confused.

I use FB to log in. Is it possible to change my username/display name?

Sorry, I don't know where else to ask.

Re: Limitations for New Registered Members

I know the reason of this is to avoid spam. However, I would have appreciated some kind of info given to new users regarding this.
All I am getting is a " You dont have permission" warning everywhere, in profile, settings etc.

There are ways where you can tell new members to check basic guidelines in a post. Just my suggestions

Ya a pop-up msg with basic guideline should help more new members after they register.

drgr84, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Happens when you try to make changes to your account settings. You need minimum 10 posts for that AFAIK.
