Only 1 vote for Spain.. lol.. cant help it, they s**ked when they played against Uruguay..In fact they should be felling damn lucky to survive that match.

I've been a germany supporter ever since i studied world history (in 6th) and got to know how they whooped Britain's arse :P

Plus they make great cars, booze, audio equipment, etc.
Coming back to soccer, they play the cleanest and most visually appealing/impressive game of soccerwhile playing as a team instead of looking for personal glory.

Nice. But no, I wasn't talking about you. In fact I voted after you did. I was talking about the general shift in support towards Germany (now that the over-hyped teams have been eliminated).

Personally, Germany fascinates me because of many things- a clashing point for many ideologies, their industrial power(both early industrial age growth and modern day adoption of green technology), its philosophers (Hegel, Kant, Nietzsche, Marx) and the social classes (from the aristocracy to ordinary people).
But not war. They've been sore losers at that. (Barbarossa drowned in the Third Crusade. The Teutonic Knights were beaten by Alexandr Nevsky. All their tanks and aeroplanes couldn't save them in WW1 which ended with the Treaty of Versailles. In WW2, they lost all their Luftwaffe(airforce) to the British RAF thereby opening the invasion of Normandy, and 80% of their Wehrmacht(army) perished on the Russian front, then the country was in ruins and split into two.). I wouldn't bet on them in any War.
But I digress, or rather I already have. ;)

Coming back to football, I always liked their players. I liked their play style even when it was criticized for being too technical. And now- with the agility of their younger players- its been an awesome show. I wonder which side paul will pick today.

In my office a contest is ON, where we have to nominate our prediction about the team who will win the cup. I was supporting Spain, but at the last moment I nominated Germany (dunno what happened).
