He guys I am thinking that is there any way to make a Indian Facebook (means FaceBook like social networking site for india) and it should be free. or very cheap...... :idea:

Why not? It is possible. Good question asked on our Independence Day. AFAIK 40% of orkut users are from India, so social networking is a hit here. Ask some tech crazy friends for partnership, or people here, though I think many wont like to dedicate their time for free. Start small, expand large. All the best for your new project :-D

No I am thinking that we should make a group and make our own networking site with lots of feature what you think.

I think that we should make a site only for indians(or for whole world but I want that only Indians should benefit from this) and that should contain all type of section like IT, Social Networking, Fun, Sports etc and all section have their sub site in which all sub sites have their own forum, section related things like in IT we have Downloads, Reviews , Forums etc.

though you could use phpbb forums for taking the easy way and that would even fulfill your needs

One of my friends suggests the same thing.The only difference was he wanted an Email service too .
Buddy its not so easy to create sites like that.You need alot of skills,brains,time.Besides there are tons of social networking sites(most of them are a big FAIL).
What about servers and other things?Who is going to pay for all that? You need to have a good investment.

Ya I had think of that and as I say its not just a social networking site it contains all things that none of the site have.

And about servers and investment first we make it as a free means co.cc or co.nr domain and free mail then if the bandwidth and response is good then we make it a real site.

And yes it is not a work of single man it require many people with different skills and that s why I want that we can make a big group (even all are from different part of this country) and we can do this.
So any one want to do that???
