    Re: Camera hacks.

i hacked my Canon 450D's stock 18-55mm lens totally. could not do a thing with it as the whole lens was infected by fungus. cleaning it would cost me more than half the price of a new one. hence bought a new one.
i hacked the circuit contacts and the body part out of the old lens. using it with the pair of lens caps to create a macro lens converter. it will be hooked on to the body and a lens can fit in the opposite direction (backwards) which will give me macro pics. usually the contacts would be on the other size and i wont be able to control the auto focus, aperture and ISO. hence use the connector of he older lens and made one from it. still work in progress as i dont have sufficient time.
will post pics as soon as it is finalized.

    Re: Camera hacks.

canon compact camera users can try using a third party firmware called CHDK.

simply copy the firmware to your SD card and boot the camera. unlock loads of features for your camera using CHDK.

dont worry, the firmware is not permanently written to the camera. switch off, remover the card and your camera is back to normal.

best feature i liked is the time lapse.

do check your camera for compatiblity before trying it. check the CHDK website for more details.

I am looking forward for it too.

am also trying to make a common stand/tripos holder for two DSLR cameras or two camcorders to create stereo photography or videos.
