If you've waited this long to get one, I'd say wait for a couple of weeks at most. The iPad2 prices will definitely fall.

And if Apple does not officially drop the prices, the grey market will make the older iPad2 available for a lot less soon enough.

I think you should wait to see what will be the price of the new iPad(now referred to as only the iPad) rather than jumping the boat and getting the iPad 2 now . Apple officially dropped the price of the iPad 2 by 100$ and the base model of the iPad is 499$(wifi) and 600 something for 4G LTE .

Even if the new iPad is available by end of the month, gray market prices will be horribly bloated. Your only option is to get from abroad or get the iPad 2 for less here, which is still a good option.

Here is the official news on this. Prices have been cut, but not by much if you ask me.

    http://m.ibnlive.com/news/apple-cuts...237372-11.html

The base 16GB model now sells for Rs 24500, which is a drop of Rs 5000 or roughly $100.

I would reckon grey market pricing would be lower in about a week or so from now.

Well considering its a 30k device the prices have been cut by 16.6%

and street prize would probably end up being lower when new stock rolls in.

^^ Imagine if they would've priced it close to 18k or so. That would've really set the cat among the pigeons!

18k for iPad 2 is a pure steal and Apple will get some new fans in India

Sooner than later I expect pricing to reach atleast 20k of the wifi only version.

The moment it does I am pretty sure many other tablets will have to shut shop.

the current prcing has endangered Galaxy Tab.

Seems like a good enough time to go for the iPad 2 as the iPad 3, Retina Display and all will hurt the bank account a little too much. I don't really see too much of an upgrade in the new version although I am certainly looking forward to seeing a Retina Display of this size. But HD video recording on a tablet seems unnecessary...
