Sounava HTC ChaCha is the best QWERTY Android at the moment(should have been 2k cheaper though).
Do you have any other specific requirements?

My requirements are quite complex actually :P
I want an Android phone because I want to fiddle with the OS. So proper development in XDA, CM etc are required for the phone.
I hate typing on touchscreens so I need a qwerty keyboard too.
Ideally I will want a sliding qwerty because then the orientation of the screen will be portrait in normal use - which is the default orientation of Android. But if that is unavailable I can go with the likes of ChaCha. I am in no hurry though. I will probably buy after 1 month. I have just started researching...
Of the currently available models, Desire Z would have been perfect, but it is now not available.

Yes I know. Its a new phone so I did not expect for any xda support/custom roms this fast either. Will have to see what is the status of this phone after 1 month.

If Desire Z was available it would have been awesome, but like I said, it is unavailable. The lowest price of Desire Z was 17k, which was great.
