    Suggestion for a phone

    Hello
I want to buy a phone and am currently struggling with the pros and cons given in the reviews. My main requirements are that it should have a decent camera and gps. I will also be using it as an audio player occasionally. Battery life is not so important. And yea is should be good looking.

    My budget is 12+/-3k.

Please do suggest me on the phones that fit my budget and requirements.

I went to the reliance digital nearby and was deeply impressed by nokia lumia 710's interface and have been smitten by it, though a friend of mine mentions that the OS is unstable and it will be a pain to deal with it. I have also read in the reviews that the audio output for the lumia 710 is not good. How true is that ?

    Thank you

Windows Phone OS is not unstable as your friend said. Rather with some strict restrictions that may annoy even normal users. My suggestion is either go for Sony Xperia U (remember 4GB usable internal memory and no memory card slot) or choose the Sony Ericssion Live with Walkman. Else there is Motorola Defy+ but i am sure you won't like the looks of it.

Sam has already given good recommendations. Or how about getting a iPhone 3gs at 10k ? Aircel is selling at that price. Another 3k for a years data plan

I checked out the phones u mentioned, Boy, I loved the Xperia U. It looks awesome. I wish the Ericson live was a bit larger. I dint like the Defy much, he did not have the defy+ so donno about that. How is the Xperia active, it looks good in the pics but i couldn't find a store which has it, though the reviews are pretty much positve. Btw there is this deal on ebay for Xperia Sola. The Sola looks really awesome too. Do let me know what you think about the deal. I will be buying the phone the coming sunday or monday.

I checked out the 3GS but it was listed out as 18k. The Aircel one which you are talking about is it something like cdma, cause where I live Aircel does not have proper network coverage.

Oh and I really love the windows UI, is there some app/theme for android from which we can get such a UI ?

    Thanks

If you can find Sola for 17k or less with manufacturer warranty, grab it.

Yes, you can change homescreen from icon based one to tiles based making it look exactly like WP.

Sadly that guy selling the Sola is not offering manufacturer warranty . But a friend of mine has found a deal for an year old S2 for 18k from a local seller. I will be asking him if he can give it for 15k. Do u think 18k an year old phone is worth 18k ?

There is no manufacturer's warranty but apparently the dealers warranty covers hardware issues also.If you want then this is an awesome deal for Sola (you get it for 15.5k)

all the dealer cares is to get the item out of his shop and receive the rating. after a months use if it gets fried or broke is not his concern. So better to avoid any item with dealers warranty irrespective of whatever he claims.

    Re: Suggestion for a phone

Most things don't generally break if they don't show any signs of trouble in the first couple of weeks of use.

So if you're getting a very good deal, then a dealer's warranty may not be such a bad option after all.
