    conexent hsf56k softmodem not detected in red hat es3

    hi
    as mentioned the modem is not detected in my machine
    i installed linux drivers from driverguide.com to get all modem drivers but the drivers for red hat were of previous kernal which on installation gives message " conexent hsf56k modem not detected.
    i installed linuxent limited bandwidth driver but that also did'nt worked out

    please help me to end this mess as i have sacrificed my 12GB partition for surfing net in linux :-(((

    mate....linux doesnt have support for winmodem....i used linux till 7 (in my school/uni days) and it was a problem then....am quite surprised to know that its still a problem.....u have to install linmodem driver for connexant which should be available at linuxant.com.....ull defnitely find some HOWTOs at linmodems.org....lemme know if this helps...
