    New Laptop Help

I want to buy a laptop with nvidia gt555m, gt630m or gt635m. My budget is nearly up to Rs.50,000.(gt555 may be out of reach). Intel i series is preferred. Processor should be sufficient to play modern games and for 3d designing. 15.4" screen and keyboard with numpad preferred. Please advice laptops with good screen quality(no need for the best but i have heard negative about a few acer laptops). HDD should be above or equal to 500GB. Basically I want the best laptop under Rs.50,000.
    Thanks.

Personally I dont like Dell coz it gives lot of heating issues. I've used Inspiron before so personal experience.

    Re: New Laptop Help

Hey, I have the same query.
Requirements:-Gaming, Some video editing, programming etc..
    Preferred config.
    Core i7 3rd gen.(pref)
    1TB hdd
I prefer Nvidia over ATI.....but can adjust.
    8Gb 1600Mhz
Preferred brand DELL or HP. I don't like designs from ASUS though configs are vfm
My budget is 70k. I have narrowed it down to Dell Inspiron 15R Special Edition(India). And HP dv6tqe (from US) though I personally would prefer something from India for warranty purposes also Dell is offering me discount and goodies!! Can't say anything about HP.
Any other suggestions welcomed. Thanks in advance guys!! Appreciated...

    Re: New Laptop Help

All right, now I have decided to go for a laptop for about 30000 to 35000 inr and upgrade my desktop with gtx670 or 660(not yet released) :-) . Hence please suggest me laptops with intel hd graphics 4000 (3rd gen core i series) or nvidia gt630 if possible. Man, those irresistible mouthwatering next gen graphics!!! Also laptop suggestions for knoxville 1 are welcome. Talking about heating issues, just to inform, my brother's hp dv4 had high frequency low volume noise coming from inside which was followed by bsod. On contacting service centre, they said it was not a serious issue and was due to heating of hdd(actually was unusually hot) in summer(40 degree celcius room temp :-( ) and suggested a cooling pad.

    Re: New Laptop Help

The lenovo z series are good but i would prefer reducing the price a bit by avoiding any dedicated graphics cards in the laptop. Also how much price and performance difference do you think will the 3rd gen i3s(can't find any laptops with it yet) will have compared to the i5s like the i5-3210M? Any ideas when 3rd gen i3 laptops will come out? From what i have read, the i3s do not support turbo boost but the rest is similar to i5s. Also, are the intel graphics drivers bug free enough to allow graphics designing like 3d modelling?( I remember a s3 graphics that caused problems. Just to inform you, i am not going to use 3d modeling for professional use but just as a time pass and maybe for selling a model or two online. But i guess that should be obvious as otherwise i would have been looking for a quadro or something like that) If you have any knowledge about laptops with my requirements that are going to be released soon but aren't yet available, please let me know. Thanks for the suggestions and please continue suggesting.
