I'm glad that if such software exists...

    Hey,
    by the way I'm krishna,

You asking really high, atleast for me. As far as I know the software you are requesting is almost impossible.

    WHY???

Well, the range of frequencies the singer might sing will vary from singer to singer. so if you try to remove all frequencies in that range, then probably most, I repeat MOST of the background music will be lost.

But I have a sweet idea for you... perhaps you may know it, anyway it's worth mentioning.

What you can do is, create your own music and sing with it.
IT'S VERY EASY TO CREATE MUSIC

I bet, with that software, you can create a music, and sing with it and combine the both!!! what you are doing is creating AN ALBUM!!!

Of course it costs a lot, the software is FL STUDIO (FRUITY LOOPS)
The latest version costs around $99 (FL STUDIO 6)
I HAVE FL STUDIO 3. Which has got free license, and it's as good as that FL STUDIO 6 minus that extra ready made beats and loops and a trendy look.

Please mention here if you want FL STUDIO, I will upload it somewhere and I will give you the link...

take care bye... I feel great if my advice worth something...

    Hi,
As far as I know, creating perfect karaoke mp3s from regular ones is virtually impossible. However, there is one method you can try.

Music and the siger's voice are recorded seperately in stereo and mono respectively. When these two are being mixed, the singer's voice (mono) is copied to both left and right channels. This kind of creates a virtual center channel. Which means that the voice has the same signal for both channels. As for music the signal can vary on the channels.

So if we remove signal components which are equal on left and right channels, theoretically we can remove the voice. This doesn't work well if modifications have been made to the voice, to make it sound better :).

I found this method to remove voice, by using cooledit. Maybe this is a little old.
    * Extract the CD track into a WAV file.
    * Load the WAV file into Cool Edit.
    * Create a new window with no WAV file in it (File->New...). Set the settings at 44.1KHz 16-bit *mono*.
    * Switch back to the original WAV file (with the "Window" menu).
    * Select the entire left channel in the original WAV file. If you move the mouse to the top of the WAV display area, the mouse cursor gets a little 'L' next to it. Pick a spot near the middle of the screen, left click, and drag all the way to the left edge. Then move the cursor back to the middle, right click, and drag all the way to the right edge. You should now have the entire left channel selected.
    * Select "copy". Switch to the new WAV file, and select "paste". Switch back to the original.
    * Move the mouse cursor near the bottom of the WAV graphic until the mouse pointer gets an 'R' next to it, and select the entire right channel the way you did the left.
    * Select "copy". Switch to the new WAV file. From the Edit menu, select "Mix paste...".
    * Select "Overlap (Mix)", volume of 100, and check the "Invert" checkbox. Click "OK".

Disclaimer: I have not tried this before.

    Hope it will help you.
There is another software called GOLDWave. It has an effect to reduce vocals.
PS: You could search the net for the actual karaoke tracks.

Try AnalogX Vocal remover. Also google for the results. And for the nth time, use the search function.

    {As far as I know, there are more than 3 threads for this topic}

There is no way to remove the vocals 100% successfully. The vocal frequency that are similar to music frequency will get mixed with music as one, that cannot be removed. But frequencies that are in different ranges can be seperated. I found FlexiMusic Wave Editor in which you can use Band Pass/Stop Filter. It may help.
