    Microphone problem

I had bought a new headset microphone for my PC and connected it to my PC, the speakers worked properly but the microphone wasn't working properly, So i tried the microphone in my friend's PC, IT WORKED FINE there & i was able to record an audio and i played it, it was crystal clear.

But I'm not able to record any Audio using sound recorder or i'm not able to use speech recognition in my PC, but every thing works fine in my friend's PC.

Then i doubled checked the connections it was all perfect but even then its not working.Someone please help.

I'm using WINDOWS SEVEN ULTIMATE EDITION which is same as my friend's.

    Re: Microphone problem

Explain "not working" and "not able to record". What happens? Nothing is being recorded? There is hissing? Too much interference? Why is it so hard to provide these details? Is the mic muted? Have you increased the recording volume? Is it enabled?

Sometimes, line in maybe selected as the recording source. Run through the recording settings.

I'm not able to record anything using the microphone, and there are no hissing noises, nor there is any interference in the microphone, it's perfectly all right with the sounds but nothing is getting recorded. and the mic is not muted and the volume is sufficient, the mic is enabled as in the sound window [from control panel] it says the mic is active and enabled and the recording volume is also maximum

    Hello Shyam

I think ur using ECS 945GCT-M2/1333 motherboard. This motherboard has sound recording problem because they don't have any updated driver for win7. you can hear audio but can't record audio.
You need to replace ur motherboard.
You can buy a motherboard that ur friend is using right now.
