    30 gigs of free space eaten..help me

    in my 198GB partition(non windows) the sum of all the contents including hidden & protected folders is142GB but it is showing only 14GB free space.
    i have cleaned, defragmented, deleted restore points, chkdisk but unable to recover the space..
    the problem occured after i deleted 30GB backup of my c drive...i m using win7 64bit.
    pls sort it out

    Absurd !! but seems hard drive sectors have been influenced by the same. i recommend you to backup the whole drive then move for any step

    Well, i would say you might wanna check in disk fragmenter as to where the space has gone, i believe it could be an unallocated space and hence it could have been eaten up.
    Do have a check on it so that you get to know where the mistake lies in the computer.
    You might be just lucky!

    Clear all unwanted junk and temp files using a third-party system cleaner. delete all older system restore points as they take up too much space on the hard drive. if needed, disable the system restore completely (not recommended).
