Many of you would be waiting anxiously for the
launch of ASUS Eee PC in India. For the
uninformed, Eee PC is a low-cost 7″ notebook
PC running customized Linux OS and has been highly
successful in almost all parts across the globe.
We now have a tentative launch date on the same

Word is that Eee PC would be available in
two models in India (at launch) - galaxy black and
pearl white. The colored models would be available
a few months down the line. It’s likely that
only the Eee PC 4G model would be available first.
The higher end 8G and the value-conscious 2G
variants are doubtful to be available from the
very beginning.
Coming to the important
part: The tentative launch date for the Eee PC is
January 29, 2008 for Rs. 18,000/- price.
Expect the Eee PC to hit mega-retail outlets
like Vijay Sales, Croma and others early February.
The ASUS channel distributor would get it around
the same time. If you decide to wait before you
purhcase the Eee PC, there may be ’some’ price
cuts later on.
So, there you have it.
We’ll continue to update with the latest scoop
on the Eee PC. Out of nowhere, the affordable
sub-notebook/UMPC market has come alive with HCL,
