GTA IV (Indian Release) Delayed

As most of you have already realized by now, Grand Theft Auto IV's Indian release has been delayed. We got in touch with the game's local distributors who could not give us a new date but they're optimistic about getting the game within a week or so.


The reason the game's been delayed is because Take Two is facing acute shortage and since India is not a high priority market we just have to sit patiently and wait till they send us stock. Unfortunately this isn't the first time this has happened to us and I'm dead sure it's not the last time.

i got one imported from a local dealer for 500 bucs extra.costs me around 3500 bucs.its worth it.the best game ive ever played on the 360

udit, GTA is not a MS game - its a take 2 rockstar.... given the state of indian gaming i am not suprised that indian releases are delayed - i mean how many of us will shell out 3000 for the game? how many of us have a gaming console, since its a xbox and ps3 game curently and the number of such consoles are limited in india its obvious that we cannot be a priority..... for crying out loud, we dont know even the studios which make games
while i am a great fan of the gta franchise and i am waiting for the release, i understand y its delayed in india

This isn't the first time that games are being delayed here, almost every game is delayed & many are not even released here. I'm really disappointed with Microsoft India.

They should ask themselves a simple question.

Is it really wrong to blame consumers for buying products from illegitimate sources [like grey market]when they don't have the option of buying the original copy of the game?

Why is the consumer being made to wait? It's not as if we're getting the game for free. We are still going to pay the exact same amount later as we would have payed had the game released on time.
So as a consumer, isn't piracy justifiable in this case?

That's a question Microsoft India and the distributors should think of before even thinking about reducing piracy levels here.

SO ASK THEM WHATS THE NEW RELEASE DATE..ANY CLUE OR SOMETHING..THIS IS PATHETIC..MS RELEASE THEIR XCLUSIVE GAMES ON DAY 1 BUT..NOT MULTIPLATFORMERS..

Y THEY TREAT US LIKE THIS...South africa got GTA 4 ON DAY 1 & even chile :x

They said one week....Take it from me its gona take atleast till mid may to come...this seriously sucks...while the rest of the world gets to play the damn game..we r stuck watching gameplay vids on da net hoping and praying that we get it soon...this wasnt the case with halo3..India got it on day one....

Maybe thats why theres no review of this game yet. But dosent really bother me. I dont even have a PS3/Xbox 360.
And a week is not too bad. Hold on there fellas.
