E3 as we know it is no more; if that statement has confused you, kindly head over here for a short history lesson. Right, now that you’re updated, let’s take a look at E3’s new avatar *shudders*.
For starters, the event will no longer take place in May as it always has been; instead it will be held in June (11th – 13th) at Santa Monica, California. Like always, E3 2007 will be 'By Invitation Only' and this time round expect more of a bore-fest as the event will strongly focus on more press conferences and business meetings.
Here's what ESA president Douglas Lowenstein had to say about E3's new avatar, "By combining suite-based meetings with the software showcase in a controlled and business-like environment, we believe we will successfully fulfill our primary objective of giving high-level media the best of all worlds -- the chance to engage in highly personal, one-on-one dialogue with leading game company executives, as well as the chance to demo games on their own time and to check out offerings from both the best known and emerging game publishers and developers."
Snoozefest alert!
