RIP Colin McRae
By: Avinash Bali   |   Sep 16, 2007

British rally car driver Colin McRae passed away yesterday in an unfortunate helicopter crash near his home in Lanark, Scotland. McRae who was a keen pilot himself was said to have been piloting the squirrel chopper at the time that was carrying three other passengers as well, one of which was his five year old son.

McRae is survived by his wife and their nine year old daughter. Our deepest condolences go out to both of them.

Though admittedly I've never posed an interest in this sport, Colin McRae was a man who I have always recognised and the news of this terrible and sudden tragedy both shocks and upsets me.
I can only imagine what friends and family of Colin, his son and their two friends are feeling.
His legacy will remain for many many years.
