LG Launches New Digi Photo Frames

After mobile manufacturer Sony Ericsson and Samsung, LG is the next company to go into the digital photo frame (DPF) business. LG’s DPFs are, just like all other DPF’s out there, are loaded with multimedia features that include video and music playback with external memory supports from SD, CF cards and USD sticks. Some of them also come with internal memory to avoid having to use cards and other storage devices.
The first is the 7-inch F7000N-PN DPF with an 800 x 480 pixel resolution. It comes with 128MB of internal memory and support for CF, SD, MMC, xD, MS and MS-Pro cards as well as USB a USB port for PC connectivity and reading files off portable drives. It supports JPEG, BMP, AudioMP3, PCM, VideoMotion JPEG, MPEG1 and MPEG4 file formats. It also features a Power Saving mode, Auto Fitting of images, Photo Effects, Frame Effects, a Clock, Alarm, Calendar and Aspect Ratio Control.
A lower end model the F7000S is also available with a 7 inch display and a 480 x 234 pixel resolution. This DPF doesn’t support any video or audio playback just images.
The second DPF is the F8400N-PN which is equipped with an 8.4 inch, 800 x 600 pixel resolution screen with all the same features as the F7000N including internal memory support and additional features like an Alarm and Calendar feature.
The F8400P is a variant of the F8400N that comes with additional functionality that includes Wi-Fi (Web Album Services) and Bluetooth 2.0 (can be used with a mobile handset) capabilities other than all the regular features.
The F1040N-PN is the third frame that has a 10.4 inch display which also sports an 800 x 600 pixel resolution display. All features remain consistent with the other models.
As of now they’re available only in Korea and are priced at Rs. 6,000 (1,65,000 KRW), Rs. 8,000 (2,31,000 KRW) and Rs. 10,400 (2,86,000 KRW) for the F7000N, F8400N and the F1040N respectively.
