Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and FBI have started training Swedish police officers to combat digital piracy.
The MPAA and FBI aim to form a team of pirate busters, who will crack down on illegal file sharing networks throughout Sweden. The duo has already trained six Swedish police officers to nab networks and users of P2P networks.
According to the MPAA, police officers were introduced to concepts as 'topsites' (secret Internet servers that distribute pirated content) and camcording (the filming of movies off the screen with a concealed video camera).
The MPAA, whose members include Paramount, Disney, Sony Pictures, 20th Century Fox, Universal and Warner Brothers, represents the movie industry in matters pertaining to piracy and lobbies the European Union from its Brussels office.
Sweden is home to 'The Pirate Bay', which claims to be the 'World's largest BitTorrent tracker' and is supported by anti-copyright organizations. Moroever, Sweden is often viewed as a haven for Internet piracy.
