AT&T Announces iPhone 3G Pricing
By: Laiq Qureshi   |   Jul 02, 2008

So its finally out! The pricing of the new iPhone 3G, from the AT&T stable. This is most likely to bring in to effect an indication of the grey market prices of these handsets here in India.

The deal is that the phones will be released for $199 and $299 for the 8GB and the 16 GB models respectively. What will come as a blow, perhaps, is the fact that the old iPhone users will pay more than we comprehended if they wish to upgrade — $399 for the 8GB iPhone 3G and $499 for the 16GB model with a new 2-year agreement, the term of which is applicable for first time buyers also.

According to Engadget, a new no-commitment version of the phone will also be made available for $599 for the 8GB model and $699 for the 16GB model, which is way more if you don't opt for the 2-year agreement.

Price is the secondary thing, the main important thing is that when iPhone will be launched in India?

The mystery of India iPhone price is over. iPhone price in India will be around Rs 25000 for 8 GB model and Rs 29000 for 16 GB model. This conclusion is made on basis of above facts that an unlocked iPhone will officially sell for $599 for the 8GB model and $699 for the 16GB model in USA. If dollar rate is considered as Rs 42 per dollar, you will get the above Indian prices. However Govt. added duty can make iPhone more costly in India.

Grey market price for iPhone 2G was 12,000Rs to 17,000Rs(Initial-before price reduction). Many have picked iPhone at this Price. With new iPhone 3G I won't be interested to pay more than 15,000Rs. When I could get iPhone 2G for 12,000Rs, I am ready to pay up to or anywhere near 15,000Rs to iPhone 3G for its new features.

May be Airtel/Vodafone could subsidise iPhone by 20%-30% for contract plan and make it avialable for this price:-)

price should not increase 18K as in india people won't get to use 3G spectrum...ha ha....and if we convert price of At&T phones it is like 25K and more...that is quite more ..in which u can get phone with many more features...like Video recording,MMS,FM radio, autofocus, zoom etc

These people are now cooking news about IPhone.
Inform stuff that is relevant to India. Pricing model in India will be totally different than that is in US.
