iPhone Users Can now Stream Content With Buffalo
By: Tech2.com News Staff   |   Aug 28, 2008

Buffalo Inc., developer and manufacturer of wired and wireless networking, storage and memory solutions has announced a new capability to its Web Access feature, giving Apple iPhone users an easy and convenient way to stream their digital content to their phones.

With a simple setup and responsive interface, the Buffalo Web Access feature seamlessly integrates a digital library, pulling content from a LinkStation Mini for instant playback.

In addition to streaming content to the iPhone, the LinkStation Mini's Web Access can provide users easy access to their digital content stored on the device from anywhere in the world via a web browser. The uniquely equipped LinkStation Mini also allows up to 1TB of network storage.

"With the Indian market, gearing up for an i-phone rage, users will enjoy the benefits of Buffalo's LinkStation as a value added service. Users are looking for more digital entertainment in terms or movies, music or TV programming anytime on the move" said Kazuhiro Tabuchi, Country manager, India at Buffalo Inc.,"The storage capacity of i-phones is now not restricted to a mere 16 GB and it enables the user to store large volume of data and access it on an i-phone sitting anywhere". He added.

The fanless LinkStation Mini provides complete data redundancy through its dual drive RAID 1 configuration. Included is a DLNA server by TwonkyVision, so users can stream files through any DLNA compatible media player.

The LinkStation Mini also includes a Remote Power Feature, which can power up the unit remotely with the included Navigator software.  The extra USB port allows users to add an additional external hard drive for expanded capacity or a printer that can then be shared via the integrated print server. It also supports UPS so the unit can shut down in the event of a power failure. The product measures 1.57 x 3.22 x 5.31 inches and weighs 1.1 pounds.

Backed by a limited one-year warranty that includes toll-free 24/7 technical support, the LinkStation Mini is now available at estimated street prices of Rs. 27800 for the 500GB (LS-WS500GL/R1) and Rs. 55600 for the 1TB (LS-WS1.0TGL/R1).
