Nokia Launches 3 New Classic Handsets
By: Shayne Rana   |   Jan 30, 2009

Nokia has just announced three new handsets - the Nokia 6700 classic, the 6303 classic and the 2700 classic. The new trio combines functionality with premium designs and materials that make them not only easy on the eyes but on the pocket as well.

Leading the new collection is the Nokia 6700 classic, which continues the legacy of the Nokia 6300.

"The Nokia 6300 raised the bar in terms of design and premium materials when it arrived in 2006 and topped all sales records for a mid-range mobile phone. The Nokia 6700 moves that bar even higher with a beautiful, slim design and perfectly balanced practicality," said Soren Petersen, Senior Vice President, Nokia. "Our new arrival shares the same 'DNA' as its predecessor and we believe that it will be one of our best selling devices in 2009," continued Petersen.

Nokia 6700

The Nokia 6700 combines smooth surfaces, rich materials and precisely crafted parts with a full metal keymat which completes the premium finish. Other features include –
  • A 5 megapixel camera,
  • assisted GPS navigation with Nokia Maps,
  • 2.2 inch TFT LCD (240x320 pixel resolution),
  • 3G support with HSDPA
  • Bluetooth 2.1
  • USB 2.0 (micro)
  • FM with RDS
Let’s hope the battery lasts longer as that was one of the key issues with the 6300.

The second handset is the Nokia 6303 classic, that comes loaded with -
  • a 3.2 megapixel camera
  • 2.2 inch screen (240 x 320 pixels)
  • pre-loaded Nokia Maps
  • 3.5 mm audio jack
  • GPRS/EDGE
  • Bluetooth 2.0
  • FM radio

Nokia 6303

The third of the list of new arrivals is the Nokia 2700 classic which offers -
  • 2-inch TFT LCD (240 x 320 pixels)
  • MicroSD card storage (up to 2GB)
  • an integrated digital music player
  • 2.0 megapixel camera
  • GPRS/EDGE
  • Bluetooth 2.0
  • FM radio with RDS

"These features mean people can save, access and share files in hundreds of formats via Nokia's online service, Share on Ovi, or a number of other websites. The rich features and simple interface mean that in many cases, the Nokia 2700 classic will provide its owner's first Internet experience," concluded Petersen.

All three devices are expected to ship in the second quarter of 2009. The 6700 is estimated at a retail price of Rs. 15, 130 (EUR 235), the 6303 is estimated at Rs. 8, 691 (EUR 135) and the 2700 is estimated at Rs. 4, 185 (EUR 65) before taxes and subsidies.

I've been using Nokia mobiles for 6 years from 1100 to 6800. some have not come to their terms with the legacy of Nokia but others have been benchmark in their category. I'd love to have 5800 Xpress but it is beyond my budget.
presently I've 3110C and engage. i'm thinking about latest engage model and of course 6303. send me MRP of latest releases as well.
