There were hints of the W880i launching on Tuesday and well, it's Tuesday and the phone has been launched by Sony Ericsson!
The ultra-slim Walkman phone from Sony Ericsson is only 9.4mm slim — a first for the company. It comes with a 1.8-inch QVGA display, a 2 megapixel camera, a 1GB Memory Stick Micro (M2) card bundled and Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP stereo support. The 3G/UMTS and tri-band GSM phone is expected to give up to 6 hours and 30 minutes of talk time or 20 hours of music playback time. There is also a W888 model which is GSM-only with no video call support for non-3G areas like China.
The other one, the W610, is more reminiscent of the W810i. The phone comes with a 2 megapixel camera with an LED flash, FM radio with RDS, a 512MB Memory Stick Micro card bundled, Bluetooth 2.0 with stereo A2DP, and quad-band GSM/EDGE network support. The phone is expected to offer 7 hours of talk time or up to 25 hours of music playback time.
There's no word on Indian availability or price, but the W880i will ship in Q1 2007, followed by the W610i in Q2 2007.
