After a lot of hullabaloo, some geeks on IRC channels claim they did manage to unlock the iPhone. The word is out and buzzing wildly on live blogs like Engadget , and it seems the unlocking can be achieved without any hardware changes. It all started with the wise people at iPhoneSIMfree releasing the application, and lot of eager people getting into action. How exactly it was done? Well, read it for yourself.
