Motorola MOTOFONE F3: It's a phone. Period.
By: Aalaap Ghag   |   Aug 07, 2006

MobileBurn grabbed and previewed the MOTOFONE F3, Motorola's latest ultra-thin, ultra-low cost SCPL-based phone. The phone does only basic functions, hence the name. It has a monochromatic Electrophoretic “Clear Vision” that's supposed to be readable even in really harsh sunlight conditions, but it simply looks dated compared to even today's basic phones. The display seems to show only two lines of seven-segment-ish (it's not) text and numbers even though the size looks like it could accommodate more. The UI of the phone is extremely simple and icon-based, to be able to be used by "illiterate" customers. The phone is expected to sell at a cheap Rs 2000 or less, which gives the F3 major success potential, however, the lack of an FM radio and the arguably “cheap” looking display may make a difference in that market. SCPL is a new platform by Motorola that takes the design and style elements from the RAZR series and puts them into budget phones. These phones will have the Electrophoretic “Clear Vision” display, a higher level of audio for use in noisy areas, better network reception for rural areas and high battery life.

I just bought it for Rs 800 in one of the online stores. After having damaged my Nokia N72 and Moto V3i I didnt have the guts to buy an expensive phone at this stage.
But I am not complaining, at 800 bucks this is a steal. The display may not be good and features limited but this phone has one sexy looking figure. It beats all Noia phones in design and it's sound clarity is good to.
I would suggest it to everyone

I am getting very good talktime on this phone, even with speakerphone.
The audio quality is the best amongst other similarly priced phones.
I also liked the calculator style minimalist SMS display, but I am sure
most people will not like it.

The feature I miss most is calculator and ability to program my own
ringtone in it.

this costs 1655 in hyderabad.it gives a richer look as L7 but is helpless in its features.
only 7 ringtones capacity, one line display give a back foot.
ITS THE PHONE ONLY FOR BASIC COMMUNICATION PURPOSE AND NOT FOR FEATURES..

it cost only 1600 Rs. its targeted at rural areas, but hey at that price I would buy it as a secondary handset and I could use this piece anyhow
