Lost Planet: Extreme Condition
By: Avinash Bali   |   Aug 28, 2006

I’ve been following this game ever since I caught a glimpse of some of it’s E3 videos and now, after months I finally got some hands on time in the form of a demo and let me put it to you this way; if you have to buy a 360 to play this game; BUY IT!

Before we dwell into the demo, here’s a slight recap of the game’s story:

In Lost Planet, human snow pirates navigate VS (Vital Suits) through hostile ice-covered environments, fighting against the indigenous Akrid creatures for the precious thermal energy they need to survive. For one such pilot named Wayne, death almost seemed imminent until he was fortunately rescued. However, he can only remember a few fragments of his past including the slaying of his father by the monstrous beings. Yet under the veil of ice, a devious plan has been set into motion by the Neo Venus Construction Corporation (NEVEC) who plans to sterilize the world of all Akrid and snow pirates alike.

Onto the demo now… The game’s essentially a third person shooter and controls pretty well too. The only problem is that the crosshair takes a bit of time to get used to, but once you get the hang of things, you’ll be blasting anyone/thing that crosses your path. The demo’s divided into two parts; one has you infiltrating an Akrid hive while the other has you clearing out an area full of Snow Pirates.
