The latest from Bluetooth specialists, i.Tech, is a variant of their BlueBand Stereo Bluetooth headphones called the BlueBand Sport. There are very significant upgrades to the product and you might even say it's nothing like the previous model except that it bears a certain resemblance in form factor. Here’s what I can tell you about the Sport and hopefully it’ll help you make up your mind if it's worth your while.
Form Factor
Like I said it does look a little like the previous model, but it offers so much more in terms of comfort and functionality. For the sake of portability i.Tech has designed the Sport to be easily collapsible and has also included a very neat and (obviously) sporty carry case for it. The flexible plastic it’s made of is light weight (73g) and the ear straps are also quite soft. They fit conveniently around the ears; and just to make sure I tried it on a few other ears other than my own. The can be worn for long periods with almost no discomfort.
The right earpiece has a large Play/Pause button in the middle that can also be used to take and end calls when they come in. Around that is a runner rim. The Skip/Forward and rewind keys are located on this slim portion. On the outermost rim of the same earpiece are the volume control buttons and a small USB port for connecting the USB charger. i.Tech has included a USB to DC converter for charging and the device can also be charged via normal USB form a PCs port.
Features and Performance
In case you're wondering why it's called the 'Sport', well, it looks sporty for one thing but more importantly, the headphones have a sweat-resistant design as well that is very handy for frequent joggers and exercise fanatics. It comes equipped with CVC echo and noise cancellation technology as well as SRS WOW HD technology. The settings for SRS can be adjusted by keeping the + volume button pressed for few seconds.
Aside form it having simple A2DP support with Bluetooth Specification v2.0 Class 2 for connectivity to mobile handsets and other devices equipped to handle the same, it supports a Multi-link function for AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile) profiles as well.
