| In a major move on the enterprise front Google has announced that it will unveil two new enterprise based search products - a new Google Search Appliance and a next generation Google Mini - targeted at large corporations and small enterprises. The Google Search Appliance is built on Google's OneBox technology that allows companies to offer FAQs across their customized business applications, such as corporate contact directories, CRM and financial programs. The pricing for the search software starts at $30,000. The new Google Mini is targeted at small businesses and is faster and half the size and weight of the original Mini. Google mini is expected to cost just a shade under $2000. Google also announced that it would launch an enterprise developer program aimed at encouraging corporations to develop their own custom products utilizing Google's search technology. |
