Hey, theres a school in my iPod!

26 May, 2006, 6:00 pm IST | Priyanka Pradhan | PMPs

Apple has launched a new feature to woo parents into buying iPods for kids. The iPod will now have a scholastic tool, as a result of a tie up with UK publisher, Pearson Education. This educational tool will be able to download study guides from Pearsons and audible review notes for exams. In addition, Apple's PowerSchool has a Student Information System for teachers and administration to track student progress. However, the obvious drawback is that the syllabus may be strictly UK based and the guides are supplements for texts only by Pearsons Publishers. Also, most schools already have efficient administration systems to track scholastic records, so the PowerSchool is really quite redundant. Nevertheless, it's a good new excuse for kids to pester their parents for an iPod!
