We all know how valuable our ever-lovin' iPods are to us and though the product isn’t something new, there are plenty of people out there ready to help relieve you of that possession. True, you will in all probability put up a fight (doesn’t seem like any one will give up their iPod without one) but if they get away I’m sure you’re going to want to make sure they get some sort of just dessert. So our friends down at Apple have the perfect solution. A new patent application that involves a sort of protective circuitry that won’t allow the iPod to be charged by any other charger or PC that wasn’t an authorized type. However my question here would be, why cant a thief just go out and buy an authorized charger? Thanks to the information from Slashdot we do know that if your plugged into an unauthorized computer the device wouldn’t charge unless the internal “guardian” circuit matched the code with the embedded code in the PC software. You’ll be the first to know when we get more details. |
