Creative Launches Live! Cam Optia Webcam

08 Nov, 2006, 11:50 am IST | Gagan Gupta |

Creative has introduced the Creative Live! Cam Optia webcam—its first USB Video Class webcam with state-of-the-art technology for instant Plug-n-Play and requires no driver installation for PC systems using Windows XP Service Pack 2 and above.

With Precision Lens, the Creative Live! Cam Optia offers increased video clarity and sharper images through the high quality glass lens, while Creative Smart Face Tracking technology automatically tracks the user’s face movements to keep the face constantly in the video frame.

The bundled software—the Creative Advanced Video FX is a library comprising 8 categories of special visual effects including backdrops and distortion. More special effects can be downloaded for free from Creative's website.

Equipped with a VGA CMOS sensor, the Creative Live! Cam Optia offers impressive video and photo quality with true-to-life colours through video capture at up to 640 X 480 resolution and photo capture at up to 1.3 megapixel interpolated resolution.

The Creative Live! Cam Optia offers a privacy control feature where a black screen is shown when the webcam is tilted downwards to 0. The Automatic Image Flip feature ensures that the captured image is always upright even when the viewfinder is rotated to the back. The Creative Live! Cam Optia also works with all popular instant messaging services including Skype and Windows Live Messenger.

The Creative Live! Cam Optia is available in Singapore at a suggested retail price of S$129.00.

It's quite short and it doesn't have any sort of versus multiplayer but The Darkness II is a polished and brutal shooter you should definitely check out, especially if you like ripping dudes to shreds.
