| Yahoo! has tied up with security vendor Symantec to unveil a consumer internet security service. Yahoo! will now market the Norton Internet Security service throughout the Yahoo network, which includes Yahoo!Mail, Yahoo! Toolbar and Yahoo!Search, and other online services. Yahoo! users are entitled to a 12 month Norton Internet Security subscription package for $49.99 after a 20% discount. Yahoo! users can also sign up for a free 30 day trial to block spam, viruses and unwanted adware. In addition, Symantec has offered its antivirus and online firewall protections on Yahoo's Online Protection for broadband users. The deal with Yahoo! will give Symantec direct access to millions of Yahoo! customers and in turn give Yahoo! an edge in the lucrative security market. For more details on the deal, click here. |
