06 May, 2008, 3:36 pm IST | tech2 News Staff | Mobile phones

Vodafone has confirmed that it will indeed be selling the iPhone in India, but hasn't mentioned when though.

The telcom giant signed a deal with ten countries including India. Australia, The Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, India, Portugal, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey will later this year be able to purchase the iPhone for use on the Vodafone network.

There is no indication of how much it will cost with Vodafone. The iPhone has been available in the grey market for some time now for Rs. 20,000 onwards depending on the model (4 GB, 8 GB and 16 GB).

We'll let you know more as soon as we know.
